Learn bat sound analysis from a practising specialist.

Online courses in recording and identifying bat calls, taught the way Nils Bouillard does it on his own consultancy projects.

Nils Bouillard, bat acoustics specialist

How do you become a bat acoustics specialist?

By learning from someone who does the work, then being tested on real recordings.

  • Learn the method

Video lessons and a workbook: how bats echolocate, how to record them, and how to read a spectrogram.

  • Identify field recordings

Short questionnaires between modules, then mystery calls: field recordings you identify as far as the evidence allows. Clear-cut calls are marked automatically, the uncertain ones by Nils Bouillard.

  • Apply it to your own data

An assignment on your own recordings or your own region, reviewed with comments, and a certificate that anyone can verify.
